Updates from Looking Glass
On Saturday, June 1st a group of Looking Glass supporters joined with a few staff members for a great bike ride together. This fundraiser helped raise over $2,500 towards our $50,000 Haugland Match Challenge Campaign.
The 2019 “Looking Forward, Giving Back” auction fundraiser for Looking Glass was a huge success - everyone walked away from this table a winner. The Vegas Nights themed event was well received by 250+ attendees and the funds generated by this extremely benevolent crowd of supporters will help our youth clients and programs greatly. Among many special features during the evening, Jeanne Staton was honored with the “Guiding Light” award for her years of service and support for Looking Glass.
Thank you to Northwest Christian University for sending a great group of volunteers to help us build our ping pong tables for our upcoming Paddle Battle event (to be placed at various LG programs after the event). As part of Enhance the Community (ETC) Day NCU sends students, staff, and faculty to local nonprofits for an afternoon of volunteering.
We partied like it was 1929 - and raised a ton of money for our programs to help Lane County at-risk youth and families build a brighter future. Thank you to all involved in helping make this event a huge success. From event sponsors to event committee members, attendees, volunteers, staff and vendors - this one really took a village and the result was nothing short of spectacular…
Our biggest fundraiser of the year is fast approaching - on Saturday, May 19th at Valley River Inn we will welcome Looking Glass supporters to join us in a night of revelry that will include live jazz, casino games with prizes, a fun photo booth, jewelry raffles as well as a live and silent auction. This year's theme is Roaring 20's! Tickets are on sale now.
Join our raffle bracket as part of the men's college basketball tournament. $50 gets you a slot in the bracket. Only one entry per person. On Wednesday March 14th, you will be randomly assigned a team. As your team moves closer to the championship, you will be eligible to win each prize from prizes donated by local businesses at each level along the way.
Every year Looking Glass staff from all of our programs gather to enjoy a nice brunch at the Valley River Inn. With live music from John Shipe and balloons by Debbie McDowell from Destination Events, Looking Glass celebrates the hard work our employees do to provide for youth, families, and adults in Lane County.
